Android in general is alot more future proof than ios in terms off app store functionality- a phone from 2015 can still download any app from the app store. Also with android apps can be sideloaded through apks giving u many more available apps as well. My friend is still using his tab S4 from like 2014 and it works great.

The S7 Will get atleast 2 more updates, It's very likely it Will receive Android 13. But as far as i know, Samsung is giving three years update just like their android flagships. So it probably Will receive Android 14 as well. Because even S6 Lite is promised to get updates until Android 13 (Start from Android 10)
